RTR was established in 1942 and has adapted over the years so that today it is an international journal with an editorial panel drawn from most regions around the globe. Submissions are welcome from anywhere in the world.

RTR publishes research quality articles that contribute to academic understanding. Articles are double-blind peer reviewed. Authors do not need to subscribe to submit. For a non peer-reviewed scholarly publication with more accessible articles and reviews, consider Catechesis.

RTR publishes articles and book reviews in Exegetical, Biblical, Systematic, Historical, and Pastoral Theology, and Philosophy and Ethics, as those fields intersect with Reformed Christianity. Reasonable liberty is permitted to authors as to what constitutes a research focus on Reformed Christianity.

RTR is a print and online subscription journal with three issues per year (April, August, and December). RTR is indexed by ATLA and Crossref and full text is available in EBSCO.
