Abstract

A 2006 article in RTR sparks fruitful thinking about the pneumatology of Acts and, indeed, of the whole canon. The present two-part article revisits those claims after a decade of classroom analysis. Many theological and pastoral advantages flow from the original article's claims, helping us to read Acts more carefully. This is especially important given the number of pneumatological doctrines and practices grounded in this one book of Scripture. However, some of the data from which these claims were elicited should be revised; some of them can be strengthened, while others are weaker than originally proposed. We can thus celebrate and refine the former RTR contribution, leading us to better understand and communicate Luke's pneumatology in Acts.
